Help Desk - Editing Staff and Agents

 
 
Staff and Agents are personnel that work within the subscribing company or external third parties that are authorized to resolve tasks.  Only Staff and Agents can be assigned to tasks. Staff and Agents can be assigned permissions that grant access to privileges in the tiHelpdesk instance. Please see the Staff and Agents Permissions help topic for more information.

Profile Icon

1. Profile Icon
Automatically generated profile icon or thumbnail of the image uploaded by the user for their profile photo.

Active / Inactive

2. Active / Inactive
Use this checkbox to enable and disable the Agent or Staff members account.

Send Invite

3. Send Invite
To send or resend an account invite click on the send invite icon. An email with link is sent to the user that will allow them to create a password and enter their user information so that they can log on the tiHelpdesk instance.

Delete Image

Remove the uploaded image and revert to the auto generated profile icon.

Upload Photo

Opens a local file system browse dialog.  The user can select a file from the local computer and attach it to the profile for use as the profile photo.

Display name

6. Display name
The User's Display name is editable by an administrator. This field is required. The user's first and last name are not editable by a site administrator. These values are only editable by the account owner or user.

Email Address

Enter or modify the email address associated with this user. This field is required.

Products

8. Products
The products that have been associated with the selected Staff member or Agent.  Consumer and end users of tiHelpdesk can enter tasks for the products that have been assigned to their Company or Division.   Users associated with Products and Groups can only create tasks for those specific Products and Groups. Agents with Products and Groups assigned can only be assigned to tasks with those Products and Groups. For more information about Products and Groups see the related help topic.

Mobile Phone

Enter or modify the mobile phone number associated with this user. This field is optional.

Notes

Notes and comments that are associated with the displayed Staff member or Agent. These notes are not displayed anywhere except on the Staff member or Agent Details Screen.  Information that may be included here could consist of anything that was of importance with this Staff member. These notes are not private and can be seen by other users with access to the Staff and Agents List.

Show All Tickets

11. Show All Tickets
Show all tasks allows the user to view all tasks in tiHelpdesk and help desk irrespective of their Product and Group assignment.  Normally Agents and Staff Members are restricted to viewing tasks that they have been associated with using the Product drop down (see item #8 above.)

Save Changes

To save changes to the Staff or Agent details click on the save button.

Cancel

To cancel saving changes to the Staff or Agent details click on the save button.

Delete

To mark the Staff or Agent record as deleted click on the delete button.

Click on the users email address to open the associated email client and send an email to the Staff member or Agent.

Click on the users phone number address to initiate a phone call to the Staff member or Agent on supported devices.

Title

Enter the Staff or Agents job title.

Topic

18. Topic
Agents and Staff members can be associated with Product Topics.  The products can have multiple topics. Consumer and end users of tiHelpdesk can enter tasks for the products and select a topic when available.  Agents with Products and Groups and Topics assigned can only be assigned to tasks with those Products and Groups and Topics.

Edit or modify the users work phone number associated with this user.
